StoreBoost (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides conversion and merchandising tools for Shopify merchants, including product benefits, badges, payment icons, trust messages, collection labels, shipping progress bars, cart upsells, and related storefront elements.
This Privacy Policy explains what information StoreBoost processes, why we process it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to merchants.
1. Information We Process
When a merchant installs StoreBoost, we may process limited information from the merchant’s Shopify store that is necessary to provide the app.
This may include:
- Shopify store domain and basic shop information.
- Product information required to display or configure StoreBoost features.
- Order count information used to determine the applicable StoreBoost pricing plan.
- StoreBoost configuration data, such as badges, labels, trust messages, display settings, placement preferences, colors, styles, and visibility rules.
- Images or icons uploaded by the merchant for use with StoreBoost.
- Technical information required to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app.
StoreBoost does not require access to customer names, customer email addresses, shipping addresses, payment card details, or other customer personal information in order to provide its core functionality.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we process to:
- Provide and operate StoreBoost features.
- Display merchant-configured conversion elements on the merchant’s storefront.
- Determine the merchant’s applicable StoreBoost plan based on monthly order volume.
- Save and synchronize StoreBoost configuration settings.
- Maintain app security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Respond to merchant support requests.
- Comply with legal, regulatory, and Shopify platform requirements.
We do not sell merchant or customer data.
3. Shopify Data Access
StoreBoost accesses Shopify data only through permissions required for the app to function.
StoreBoost currently uses access to product information and order count information. Order information is used only to calculate the store’s order volume for pricing purposes.
We aim to request only the minimum Shopify permissions necessary to operate the app.
4. Uploaded Content
Merchants may upload custom icons or images for use with StoreBoost.
Uploaded content is stored only as necessary to provide the requested StoreBoost functionality. Merchants remain responsible for ensuring they have the right to use any content they upload.
5. Data Retention
We retain merchant configuration data only for as long as necessary to provide StoreBoost and meet legitimate operational or legal requirements.
When a merchant uninstalls StoreBoost, associated merchant data is scheduled for deletion in accordance with Shopify’s privacy and data deletion requirements.
Certain limited records may be retained where required by law, for security purposes, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or financial recordkeeping.
6. Data Deletion and Privacy Requests
StoreBoost supports Shopify’s mandatory privacy and data deletion processes.
Merchants may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with their StoreBoost account by contacting us.
Shopify may also send StoreBoost privacy-related requests, including shop data deletion requests, through Shopify’s required privacy webhooks.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed by StoreBoost against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect StoreBoost systems and merchant information.
8. Third-Party Services
StoreBoost relies on third-party infrastructure and service providers necessary to operate the app, such as hosting, database, and platform infrastructure.
These providers may process limited information only as necessary to provide their services to StoreBoost.
StoreBoost is also built on and interacts with the Shopify platform. Shopify’s own processing of merchant and customer information is governed by Shopify’s privacy policies and terms.
9. International Data Processing
Information may be processed or stored in countries other than the merchant’s country of residence, depending on the infrastructure providers used to operate StoreBoost.
Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.
10. Children’s Privacy
StoreBoost is intended for use by businesses and Shopify merchants and is not intended for children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through StoreBoost.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to StoreBoost, legal requirements, or our data practices.
When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
